A fully escorted guided tour of the wonders of the 'Field of Miracles' (Piazza dei Miracoli) at Pisa. More specifically, the cathedral (duomo), baptistery (battistero) and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa (Torre Pendente). The tour is available in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian and will take around five and a half hours in total. The cost includes all transport and assistance, a local guide in Pisa as well as all entrance tickets.

Overview

The tour runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

You'll meet at a central point in Florence and head off towards Pisa at 08.30 in the morning. Once in Pisa you'll be taken to admire the architectural beauty of the Piazza dei Miracoli. You'll climb the Leaning Tower, have the history of the baptistry and other buildings explained to you, followed by an accompanied trip around the cathedral. You'll then have some free time before the bus heads off back to Florence. This excursion from Florence runs all year. Children under the age of 8 are not allowed to ascend the tower and this tour is therefore not suitable for families with younger children.

Found this a very enjoyable tour with one fault, lack of time. Arrived in Pisa and given a short guided tour of the church and then taken to the tower. Wonderful experience climbing the tower. Afterwards there was barely time for a quick photo and then we were back on the bus returning to Florence. Even 30 minutes longer would have made a difference.

The only issue was the air conditioning on the bus. Pretty much non-existant. I'm sure if they wanted to, they could improve the A/C, but I guess there's little need once the trip is over and you've sweated in your seat for 3 hours total. The remainder of the trip was great. We enjoyed seeing the Leaning Tower, the local guide was fantastic, we learned a lot and had great fun
