tickitaly.com - sightseeing, not queueing.

This day trip offers a visit to the wonderful Cinque Terre (Five Towns) perched high on the hilly coastline of Liguria. These beautiful and isolated fishing villages, accessible by rail or water, are now a Unesco Heritage Site, with splendid views over the harbours, vineyards and surrounding countryside.

Your English-speaking driver/guide will pick you up at your hotel or apartment at about 8 AM in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan.

You'll cross from Tuscany and Liguria, past the spectacular Apuan Alps - the source of Michelangelo's marble, passing through the town of La Spezia and its romantic Gulf of Poets until you reach Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre.

From Riomaggiore, you'll make your way (by train or by boat depending on weather and sea conditions) through the villages, stopping at Manarola for about an hour, passing by Corniglia, and stopping for an hour and a half at Vernazza (we suggest you lunch here.) You'll then move on to Monterosso where you'll have about an hour to explore before your driver meets you to take you back to Florence (arriving at about 8 PM.)

At a glance details:
