tickitaly.com - sightseeing, not queueing.

A fully guided tour to view ongoing restoration at the Domus Aurea. Explore Nero's 'Golden Palace' and step back into Ancient Rome.

The tour lasts approximately 75 minutes and is available in English, French or Spanish on Saturdays and Sundays only. Group sizes are restricted to 23 visitors, and you'll be accompanied at all times by an official guide. The only way to discover this wonder of opulent Ancient Rome is as part of a guided tour.

From 23rd June through to 7th January 2022, your ticket will include entrance to the exhibition Raphael and the Domus Aurea, 'The invention of the grotesque'.

Part of the tour offers a unique immersion in the day to day (though far from ordinary!) life of this incredible space via a series of virtual-reality and multimedia interludes. The exhibition begins towards the end of your visit and then continues in another space, one you'll be directed to at the end of the Domus tour. The exhibition can only be explored on the same day as your visit.

At a glance details:

  •   Voucher must be printed. You must print these vouchers in order to exchange them for your tickets - an email or a copy of the voucher on your phone or mobile device will not suffice.
  •   These are full skip-the-lines tickets, all fees and exhibitions included.
  •   Tours last approximately 75 minutes.
  •   Includes downloadable ebook guide.
  •   You'll meet at the main entrance to the Domus Aurea.
  •   The site is currently described as being 'partially accessible' to wheelchair users; given that restoration is ongoing, this tour is therefore not recommended.
  •   Please be sure to wear appropriate footwear and also take along a warm jacket, for the high levels of humidity underground as much as anything else.

Coronavirus in Italy

GREEN PASS - Please note that from the 6th August 2021 all visitors must be able to provide a Green Pass or equivalent showing your EU Digital Covid certificate.

The document should show the number of doses received, dates of vaccination and the batch number.
Please check with your Government travel advisor for the equivalent if you do not have a Green Pass.

Due to Coronavirus many venues and events are applying strict entry conditions. These will vary by venue but common examples are:

  • You must wear a compliant CE mask (Ordinanza RT n.48) which covers both mouth and nose.
  • Disposable single-use gloves must be worn at all times.
  • Hands (or gloves) must be cleaned with a disinfectant gel on entry.
  • Your temperature (which will be measured on entry) must not be above 37.5°C.
  • Visitors must maintain a social distance of 1.8m at all times.
  • There may be a maximum visitor limit in place - in some cases this may lead to delays

Any conditions may be changed without notice as Italian regulations are updated.

If you are denied entrance because of failure to meet entry conditions, no refunds will be available.
