Expo Milano 2015

Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life

Universal Exhibition - May 1st to October 31st

As the proud hosts of this year's Universal Exhibition, Expo Milano 2015 has chosen as its theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life". Over the six months between the 1st May and 31st October, the exhibion is dedicated to the effects of food on culture, art, pleasure and human life, and the opportunities to challenge problems of nutrition and agriculture using modern technologies and creativity.

With more than 140 participating countries and more than a million square meters of space, this exhibition will also offer a unique opportunity to sample the diverse cultures and cuisines of the world.

We offer a variety of tickets for adults, senior citizens, the disabled, young people and families.

Choose a date and we'll show you the range of tickets and prices that are available.

Please note that the ticket will be valid for a single specified date - once an order has been confirmed we cannot modify or cancel the booking, or offer a refund in the event that the ticket is not used.

This day ticket offers a unique opportunity to experience the cultures and cuisines of more than 140 participating countries, with a huge variety gardens, pavilions and exhibitions to explore.

The Expo Milano runs from May 1st to October 31st and is open from 10 AM 'til 11 PM. The ticket is valid only for the day specified and gives access to a range of delights - the spices, fruits and dishes of the world, with a focus of biodiversity and the potential of modern technology to augment and preserve the world's many food cultures.

The layout is based on classical Roman urban planning, with two intersecting avenues: the East-West Decumano with its international pavilions, and the North-South Cardo with the Italian exhibition buildings. Outdoor areas include the Mediterranean Hill - host to the Slow Food exhibition, the open air theatre, and the Lake Arena which will be hosting water games, concerts and firework displays.

How to get there:
The Expo Milano 2015 site is located just to the north-west of Milan, within easy distance of Milan's three airports and main public transportation.
To get there by metro you'll need to purchase an 'extra-urbano' ticket and take Linea 1 (Red line 1) to Rho Fiera Milano metro station (about 25 to 30 minutes from central Milan.) Once you've arrived you'll proceed to the Security Plaza for security checks before entering the Expo.
To get there by train you'll need to purchase tickets to Rho Fiera Milano railway station (various lines) or the new station at Porta Ovest (high speed Frecciarossa.)
Taxis will take you to either Merlata (South) or Roserio (West) which are a short walk from the security areas, while drivers can use the following parking areas: Merlata, Arese, Fiera Milano and Trenno (the last 3 with a free shuttle bus running to the Expo).

What can I bring with me
We recommend that you don't bring bags or luggage as there are no deposit facilities in the Exposition grounds. Outside the the site there are some places where you can deposit items, but these are of limited capacity (not guaranteed to be available) and are not free.
Please remember that the Exposition site is like a small town, with shops, restaurants, pharmacies and many other facilities, so you shouldn't need to bring much with you.

The following objects are not permitted inside the expo:
• Firearms (including toy guns since they can be mistaken for the real thing), knives, scissors over 6cm or anything that can be used as a weapon.
• Drugs, paint, flammable material and any other dangerous/noxious material.
• Drinks in cans or glass bottles (soft drinks in plastic bottles are permitted but only for personal use).
• Banners, signs, flags, and documents related to political, religious or ideological propoganda.
• Animals (with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired) are not allowed.
• Scooters are also not permitted.

Visitors with disabilities:
The Expo has been designed with accessibility in mind - all four entrances are suitable for visitors with disabilities, as are the walkways, pavilions, children's play area and service areas. Specially equipped restroom facilities are available.
Events and conferences, as well as fast track access, are the responsibility of the individual countries participating. While the Expo has requested that full priority be given to accessibility we would recommend that you check with the responsible organiser before relying on this.
A free shuttle bus (accessible to visitors with disabilities or limited mobility) will be running on the outer perimeter of the site leaving every 5 minutes during peak hours. Paths inside the site are stricly pedestrianised and inaccessible to buses, taxis and cars.
Unfortunately, the Mobility Centre offering wheelchair and mobility scooter rental is not yet in operation. At the moment we recommend that you arrange to bring your own or plan your visit for once the Centre has opened.

Please remember that the ticket will be valid for a single specified date - after your order has been completed we will be unable to cancel or modify that date.
