OPENING TIMES:
Both the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia (Michelangelo's David)
are closed on Mondays. Other than that they are open Tuesday to Sunday
from
8.15
AM to 6.50
PM.
Last
booking
for
the Accademia
is 5.30 PM whereas
the Uffizi will only accept bookings up to 4.45 PM. Opinions vary, and it very
much depends on your appetite for Renaissance art, but we wouldn't recommend
'doing' both galleries in one day. Yes, it can be done, but the Uffizi is pretty
big and there is an awful lot to see. Please note that we are able to offer
a limited number of Uffizi tours with guaranteed pre-booked availability -
availability; should you wish to request a custom tour guide for
the Uffizi then please send a message to tours@tickitaly.com for
details.
PRICING (STANDARD TICKETS):
Prices include booking fees and service charges, and also cover entrance to any
special exhibitions that may be showing during your visit. There is no charge
whatsoever for children under six years of age (they do not need to reserve).
European citizens aged between 18 and 25 qualify for reduced price tickets. European
citizens
under
the
age
of
18
or
over
the
age
of
65
do not need to pay the entry price; there is still, however, a charge to cover
booking fees, service
charges and entry to special exhibits. We are only able to make bookings of this
sort if they are part of a paying group.
PRICING ('NO EXHIBITION' TICKETS):
For large parts of the year, and almost always during the summer,
the Uffizi plays host to at least one special exhibition.
The gallery levies a charge for the exhibition automatically, whether
you choose
to visit or otherwise, and we include the charge in the pricing
of our standard ticket. However, if you're intending to visit outside
of these times, we offer tickets
at
a slightly
lower cost given the lack of additional attractions. You'll find
links on the individual 'standard' ticket pages, or lower down
on the Uffizi ticket-types
page.
PRICING (GUIDED TOUR TICKETS):
We have a page dedicated to pricing of our pre-booked Uffizi tours
- click
here for details.
HOW YOU'LL GET YOUR (STANDARD AND 'NO EXHIBITION') TICKETS:
To reserve tickets for the Uffizi Gallery, just
fill
out
the
booking form, complete with preferences for date and time (dates
are in European
DD/MM/YYYY format), supply us with credit card details, and we'll do the rest.
There will be no charge whatsoever until we confirm your reservation. We'll
then point you to our secure page, where you can print out your
entry voucher. Print it out,
take it with you
to the Uffizi and present it at the ticket desk ... they will
swap it for your entry ticket. As simple as that!
For the Uffizi, take this voucher to 'entrance number 3'
and you'll be given your tickets; proceed to 'entrance number one' and you'll
find two (small) queues, exclusively for those who have pre-booked tickets.
One queue
is for individuals or small groups, the other is for groups of ten or more
people. Present
your tickets, and you're in. You won't have to join
the serpentine queue, but nonetheless we'd advise you to arrive 15 minutes
before your entry time.
PLEASE NOTE: You must present yourself at the galleries at the
time specified on your booking voucher - admittance will not be granted at
other times. For this
reason,
if you're planning on seeing the Accademia and the Uffizi on the same day,
please be sure to leave at least a couple of hours between visits.
Please also
be
prepared
to
show
some
ID
-
It
is
sometimes
difficult
for
Italian officials to understand that not all countries require their citizens
to carry
ID cards, if indeed they are issued in said countries at all. You will often
find that nothing other than a Passport or Driving Licence (with photograph)
will suffice.
