Information and reservations for this day long excursion to Como and Bellagio, with boat trip on Lake Como.
Whatever the reasons for finding yourselves in Milan (fashion, passion, the Last Supper, football, flights or opera), it's easy to forget that some of Italy's most striking scenery and splendour is on your doorstep. Pretty high up any list is Lake Como, and here we offer a full-day excursion from Milan, with guided visits to Bellagio and Como, as well as an unforgettable boat trip on Lake Como itself, admiring some of the finest villas and gardens in Italy.
The tour heads off from Milan every day between April and October, and on Saturday only from November to March, leaving at 9 o clock in the morning and returning at around 6 o clock in the evening. You'll arrive (private coach) in the town of Como at around ten in the morning, where you'll have a guided visit to the town centre, after which it's on to the lake itself for your panoramic cruise by boat to Bellagio. You'll pass by some wonderful villas and gardens, including the well known villa (now luxury hotel), Villa Este at Cernobbio. Please note that during the winter the tour is slightly shorter, excluding the visit to Bellagio.
At roughly 4 o clock it's back to Como where the coach will take you up to the Basilica S. Abbondio, a fine Romanesque church, with splendid frescoes, located a kilometre or so outside the town walls. After a coffee break at a local silk store, it's back on the coach to the return trip to Milan. You can pass the hour wondering if George Clooney saw you sail by.
