Rome – the Colosseum upper levels once again open to visitors.

Finally some better news from Rome and the Colosseum. The long-awaited and much-discussed ‘sponsored’ restoration work may not yet have begun (it was due to start this month, March 2012) but at least the upper levels – the terzo anello have today reopened.

They have been closed to visitors since the exceptionally heavy snowfalls of last month but may now be visited again, as ever, exclusively as part of a guided tour of the Colosseum. Fingers crossed that the dungeons will be next.
