The Roman Colosseum may stand in place as a solid, stable and immovable monument, but when it comes to openings, tours, ticketing and special events, things are as far removed from stable and immovable as can possibly be imagined.
Here below is the state of play for those of you wishing to visit the Roman Colosseum in 2012:
- Colosseum tickets – fully bookable for 2012.
- Colosseum guided tours – fully bookable until end August 2012.
- Colosseum dungeon and upper level tours, approx. 2 hours – we are taking orders for dates until end August 2012 but we’ll be placing them on backorder hold whilst we wait for news from Rome on progress with the underground areas. We hope to be able to begin confirming these orders before too very long.
- Colosseum dungeons, upper level and Roman Forum tours, 3 hours – our ‘prebooked’ tours are
not yet available for 2012 – we shall update this post as soon as we have news.
