How would you like to attend a concert, or to just be standing in the centre of the Colosseum? What seems like a wish may come true soon, as the Italian government is currently seeking proposals to build a $22.5 million retractable floor for the Colosseum, as reported by the BBC. The deadline to submit the report is 1st February 2021, with the hope of completing the project by 2023.

Currently the Colosseum does not have a floor and visitors can see the underground tunnels, pulleys and trap doors famously used by the gladiators and wild animals. The floor system would come in place to be used with inclement weather and to allow the site to become a venue for high culture events, including theatrical performances.

What are your views on this? Would you like to attend an event at the Roman biggest amphitheatre?
