Pisa Tower, 20 Years On

It was 20 years ago that consolidation and restoration work on the Leaning Tower of Pisa concluded, seeing the tower protected for an estimated three centuries.

It was therefore fitting that the Italian Culture Minister – Alberto Bonisoli – was in Pisa to propose an international prize be established to recognise the (often largely hidden) work of those taking part in cultural ‘risk prevention’ work.
