A splendid tenth anniversary present see the reopening of the Decumano Massimo, the main street of ancient Ercolano – Herculaneum, an event that for this first time in 30 years means all the major streets of this incredible archaeological site are now open to visitors.

The work on the site is far from over and coming years will see other areas of this site, lost, along with Pompeii, to the eruption of Vesuvius in AD79, restored and reopened to visitors, all the way up to the Villa dei Papiri.
