A guided tour of the extensive Vatican gardens and the Sistine Chapel. Starting early morning (Monday to Saturday), subsequent entry into the rest of the Vatican is included in the cost.
This is an official, Vatican-organised tour that in approximately two to three hours takes in much of the gardens and parklands that form more than half of the entire Vatican territory, covering almost 50 acres (20 hectares). The gardens became established during Baroque and Renaissance times, with legend having it that the Vatican gardens were spread with earth brought from Golgotha by Saint Helena. The tour also includes the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries, and the Sistine Chapel.

Overview
The gardens include 3 hectares of woodland, splendid flower beds and topiary, lawns, a labrynth, specimen trees, grottoes and fountains and a range of buildings scattered throughout, from medieval fortifications to the modern-day home of Radio Vatican.
Tours are available 6 days a week (not on Sundays) in English and Italian. They start at either 09.00 or 10.00 in the morning (possibly 10.30 in winter). However, availability is very patchy, and so as not to waste your or our time, and given the slight difference, we will attempt fit you in whenever we're able to - please let us know during checkout if you must have a specific time.
