Your tour starts at the bottom of the Campidoglio Staircase - also known as the Cordonata Capitolina - with a chance to admire its namesake square, designed by Michelangelo. Your guide will then take you to the illuminated Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, the Forum of Caesar with the ruins of the Temple of Venus and the Forum of Augustus. Although these attractions are closed in the evening, this is a remarkable chance to marvel at what was once the heart of the Roman Empire. You'll then proceed down the via dei Fori Imperiali - built by Mussolini as a monument to the symbology of Rome, before the last stop before reaching the Colosseum, Vespasian's Temple of Peace.
