Recently started – and viewable by visitors to Herculaneum – Ercolano – is some new restoration work on the mosaics of the ‘House of the Deer’ – Casa dei Cervi – once one of the grandest mansions of Ancient Rome.
The work can be viewed by visitors, a constant theme in and around Pompeii as the authorities try to make the work of archaeologists a living part of a sightseer’s experience.
