A full day guided tour of Florence including David at the Accademia, and the Uffizi Gallery. Included is a Tuscan lunch in a typical central Florence restaurant. Total touring time is around 4 and a half hours with a lunch break of around 2 and a half hours in the middle.

The tour begins at 9 AM (meeting point at 8.45 AM) at the Accademia, where you'll bypass the queues and head straight in to view Michelangelo's famous David, as well as some other works by the great artist.
Group sizes for the Accademia tour will not be more than 20 people in high season, 25 in low season.

Next comes a walking tour of the area around the cathedral (Duomo) at 10:45 AM (meeting point at 10:30.) This takes in the Church of San Lorenzo, the Baptistery with the famous Porta del Paradiso, the cathedral with the magnificent Cupola (dome) by Brunelleschi, and Giotto's bell tower (campanile).

After the morning section of the tour (at about 12:30) an assistant will then accompany you to a traditional local restaurant where you'll enjoy a delicious Tuscan lunch (excluding drinks.) Please note that if you do have any children under the age of seven with you then they will be charged for at the restaurant.

In the afternoon (just after 3 PM) you'll enjoy a guided visit of the Uffizi Gallery, with one of the most famous art collections in the world. You'll see a splendid selection of works including masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raffaello, Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto and others including Botticelli's breathtaking Primavera and Birth of Venus. After the tour you'll be able to remain in the Gallery enjoy the exhibitions at your own pace.

Please note that the order of the visits may change.

For groups of more than six people it is obligatory to use the 'Whisper' audio system. Your guide will be talking into a small microphone and you'll each be listening on special earpieces. This is included in the price.

HOW YOU'LL GET YOUR TICKETS:

great tour an guides had very good English and info was very good. Not sure I would worry about the coach trip to the village as we didn't get out. seemed like it was put in just to kill time?

For this particular tour - we found that touring both museums on the same day too much. We would advise taking either the morning or afternoon tours but not both.

This tour could have been condensed into half a day. Too much time was spent talking about the David statue from afar and in remote corners of the Academy and not enough time actually admiring the art. We actually left the tour after lunch because we could not endure any more.
