Information and ticket reservation for a sunset boat trip, Venice, Italy
Could it get more atmospheric, more evocative than the waterways of Venice at sunset? This unique tour will show you the canals and lagoons from a boat especially designed to go places other boats cannot; the bragozzo is a traditional wooden sail-boat with a flat bottom, constructed to cope with the variable depths and shallow waters of the Venetian estuary.
The tour heads off in the early evening and lasts roughly 2 hours. There'll never be more than 10 people on the boat, allowing your english speaking captain to impart his passion and knowledge in an intimate environment. You'll be seeing things not seen from the vaporetti water transports - fortifications of the ancient Venetian Republic, out-of-the-way parts of the Lido, spectral views of the Monastery of San Lazzaro, and priviliged peeks at local life you wouldn't ordinarily be granted. A glass or two of prosecco won't go unwelcomed as, passing St Marks's, you head for home and turn towards the sunset views of the inimitable Venice skyline.
This trip runs on Tuesdays and Fridays from the beginning of April until the end of October.
Departure times:
18:00 (six o'clock in the evening.)
