How do we know when we are allowed to take photography??

For example is the “Secret Itinerary Doge’s Palace Tour”, “Ca’ Rezzonico”, “Colosseum Dungeon’s Tour”…. Allowed to take photography?

I know San Macro’s Basilica interior doesn’t allow photography.

Hello. For Venice the short answer is ‘No, you may not take photographs or make films’. This is indeed the case for virtually all museums and galleries in Italy and the obvious reason is that the use of flash photography – albeit inadvertently – will harm delicate works of art, often on show in low-light conditions. For the Colosseum the answer is that you should be able to take photographs and films, but do check with your tour guide to be extra sure. Enjoy your visits.

I just joined the site~looks awesome. My question about the Colosseum is this: Do private groups produce events at any part of the Colosseum? Say, for example, a concert promoter wanted to produce an entertainment extravaganza, is this an option for venue? Where do I find information about that?

Most unlikely, sorry – the literally ruinous state of the Colosseum does not leave much room for seating. There was a large concert held inside the Colosseum last year (Italian singer Biagio Antonacci held a UNESCO concert there), but this was highly unusual – the Colosseum is often a backdrop to concerts as opposed to a venue proper.
